William F. (Bill) Lawson joined BENS in 1996 as the Kansas City Regional Director, in which capacity he is responsible for events, recruiting and membership services in that metropolitan area.
BENS shares the experience, commitment, and standing of business and professional leaders with our Nation’s policymakers in seeking solutions to national security, homeland security and emergency management issues.
He was instrumental in formation of the Missouri Public Private Partnership Committee, authorized under the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisory Council to address Missouri’s prioritized homeland security / emergency management issues. He also serves as a Special Advisor, Missouri Office of Homeland Security.
He has formed strong relationships in Kansas City with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VII, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), United States Secret Service (USSS), United States Attorney’s Office Western District, and city and state fusion centers.
He is a seasoned business professional with extensive knowledge and experience in homeland security, emergency management, and military affairs. He was a Commissioned Officer, United States Army upon graduation from Southwest Missouri State University, with a degree in Organic Chemistry. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Operations Research / Systems Analysis.
Prior to joining BENS, he was Vice President, Director of Operations for a nationally chartered bank, responsible for planning, development, training, and security operations.
