Kansas City: Events
We host a series of dynamic events locally to bring senior business, government, and military leaders together with our members to discuss the current state of America’s national security issues to promote interactive discussions, and solution development. Please click here for a list of upcoming events.
- We host a National Security Award Dinner annually to recognize a distinguished patriot from either Kansas or Missouri that has contributed to maintaining the strength of America and protection of our Nation’s national security and homeland security interests.
- We work with the states of Missouri and Kansas in fostering public – private partnerships to address solutions for homeland security and disaster response issues. We maintain a cooperative, collaborative, and communication program to address those issues that affect us on a national, state and local level.
- We have implemented with the Missouri State Emergency Management (SEMA) the Business Emergency Operations Center (BEOC) to provide private-sector representation in the State EOC during disasters to provide situational awareness to the state, and assist in locating “surge” resources for response.
- We have partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region VII to implement a FEMA BEOC within the region, and provide private sector expertise during disaster response.
- We function as the primary private sector resource for the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) – the state fusion center, and the Kansas City Terrorism Early Warning (TEW) Interagency Analysis Center. In conjunction with our members, we assist the state in deterring terrorist activity through security enhancement in the private sector.
- We have partnered with the Command & General Staff College Foundation and The Simon Center at Fort Leavenworth on fostering joint interagency collaboration within the government and military.
